Balance bikes provide budding riders with a stripped-down version of a bike on which to learn the most important element of cycling - balance.

With no peddles, no brakes and limited steering the rider can concentrate on "walking the bike" in the early stages and by building confidence this way, quickly become more proficient at balancing the bike.

Structure

We have always used good quality wood, but now we use even better. The all new Jakayaan™ balance bike is made of solid birch plywood, unlike some of the cheaper bikes on the market. The tough, durable ply we use is comparable to the best European brands and gives a superior feel to our bikes.

Fittings

We have improved the fittings we use too to give a better quality, and firmer ride.

Wheels

As before we use pneumatic tyres and lightweight aluminium rims, but this time on tough marine grade ply. Access to the tyre valve is improved and the valves are longer.

Seat Height

The Jakayaan™ balance bike has four seat height levels for greater flexibility. Every bike now comes with both blue and pink logo stitched seat covers.
